Feast or Famine Campaign

Services: Market Research; Social Media, Promotional Materials, Photography

We created a campaign focusing on creating and promoting the zoo as a fun and interesting place to visit. We focused on an event that the Red River Zoo hosts known as Feast or Famine. Feast or Famine focused on the gray wolf’s hunting and feeding behaviors at night. Guests of the zoo were able to be up close and personal by watching the wolves in their natural habitat through a glass wall. Fargo-Moorhead taxi drivers were invited free of charge in hopes that they would encourage visitors of the FM area to visit the Red River Zoo.

We created an “I Donated” campaign to raise money for donation to the zoo on Giving Hearts Day. The campaign consisted of booths in Maclean Hall on Feb. 13 and 14 where people could submit their donations, enjoy free candy and put their names on donation recognition cards that will be displayed at the Red River Zoo. The campaign was very successful and raised a total of $140, which was matched by a sponsor of Giving Hearts Day.

We have created a one minute commercial titled, “Giving Hearts Day Love the Zoo.” This video consists of  interviews conducted last semester in order to promote the Zoo’s participation in Giving Hearts Day, February 14th.  The commercial is viewable on our Facebook , as well as, the zoo’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.  We encourage all students to share the video on their own page and remember to donate on Feb 14 to the Zoo.  Vision Bank is hosting a contest for the best video created for Giving Hearts Day with a cash prize.  To show your support for PRSSA and the Red River Zoo click here and vote for the zoo’s video!  Remember that PRSSA will have booths in Maclean Hall on Feb 13th and 14th for their “I Donated” campaign.  There will be free candy and a video of the commercial we created playing.  PRSSA will be donating all of the money they raise through their campaign on Giving Hearts Day to the zoo.

The Red River Zoo is going to participate in Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour online fundraiser held on Feb. 14.  To create awareness and encourage people to donate to the zoo on this day, we are going to be producing a series of 30-second commercials featuring interviews of Red River Zoo supporters.  The videos will be aired on youtube and explain why the zoo is important to its supporters and our community.
